Arrival in Keswick
A smooth drive across the Penine Hills saw the team arriving in Keswick at 6:15 p.m. We unloaded the vans and locked up the bikes for the night and headed off to the Twa Dogs Pub for a meal. Everyone settled down for a good night’s sleep by 11:00 p.m..
Saturday - The Cold Irish Sea
The team woke at 6:45 a.m., loaded the van and headed off to the Irish Sea Coast, pausing to grab a Bacon Butty, courtesy of Mrs McEndoo. The scene that greeted the team at Workington was a very hostile one, driving rain, poor visability and a cutting wind. To make matters worse some urgent maintenance including a flat tyre, had to attended to before departure. "It was awful... it felt like we were cycling to our doom!"
